Ok Grand Theft Auto 4 (GTA4) has been released and a lot of people bought it and are now playing it.
However with such violent and unsocial content in the game, is society trying to glorify the wrong kind of culture? In the very early GTA games you as the player played a character who's loved one was kidnapped and you were given a limited amount of time to come up with enough money to ransom her. But in the later games, you played the role of a gangster, street punk or mobster who is trying to become big in the criminal underworld. You go around extorting money, robbing, killing and not to mention the language content.
With games like these, what are we teaching our children? That the life of a gangster is romantic? That it's full of romantic glory? That it's ok to use such crude and vulgar language?
Back in the the days of our grandparents, when a guy went out with a girl there were certain social rules and etiquette to be followed. Now when we talk to a girl we call her with terms such as 'byatch' or 'whore' etc.
As the generation responsible for raising the next, shouldn't we be more responsible with what we teach them and how we raise them?
